Here is the simple and quick recipe for preparing Licorice Cough Syrup: a real panacea for the throat, 100% natural. A sweet and aromatic syrup made in just a few steps and with just a few ingredients:
- Licorice powder
- Brown sugar
A real grandmother's remedy that can't be missing in your pantry during the winter. The preparation is really simple and takes little time . Here are the steps:
Pour 300 ml of water into a saucepan and heat over high heat until it comes to a boil.
Once the boiling point has been reached, lower the heat and add 200g of whole cane sugar .
Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until it is well dissolved.
- Filter with a sieve if thickening occurs.
The time has come to pour the licorice syrup into special glass containers: small bottles or jars with screw caps.
- This delicious homemade syrup can be enjoyed right away.
For good conservation, place the licorice syrup in the refrigerator for two months.
If you want to keep the syrup even longer, you need to sterilize the glass containers before using them, boiling them for 20 minutes. To create the vacuum - once extracted from the water - let them dry and put the licorice syrup in the jar while it is still boiling.
Close the screw cap of the jars and let them cool.
- The licorice syrup is ready!
