From the forests of the Sila plateau descending towards the sea along the bed of the Colognati torrent , towering over orange blossom and clementine flowers: it is in this long spring journey traveled by bees that one of the best honeys in Europe is formed! This was established by the jury of experts of the ASGA (Beekeepers Siena Grosseto Arezzo), chaired by Prof. Marco Valentini, which presented, for the second consecutive year, the International Honey Prize "Roberto Franci" to the Rossanese farm VALLE DEL COLAGNAT by Carmine Beraldi

Together with the refined declinations of taste, from Licorice , to Dolce di Rossano oil , the sweetness of Colognati honey is also the corollary to this riot of native flavours.

A unique, special product that springs from the industriousness of bees but also from the expertise of the Beraldi family, beekeepers for two generations and true specialists in the sector who have held the secrets of artisan honey production for decades. A dedication, the one for the nectar, born almost as a game!
Many years ago – says Eng. Giuseppe Beraldi – hives were given to my father. And that's how his passion for bees was born. Day after day, sacrifice after sacrifice, he managed to "pour" a genuine and tasty product. Thus, what began as a hobby has led to the birth of a company with the will to get involved in the world of beekeeping.
The bees of the "Valle del Colagnati" company produce their honey by processing the pollen that is formed from plants that grow in uncontaminated territories, in the heart of the Greek Sila. The delicious honey is produced: in the reserve of "I Giganti del Cozzo Pesco", a WWF oasis that houses a thousand-year-old chestnut grove, in the municipality of Rossano; in the clearing of San Pietro in Angaro, in the municipality of Longobucco; and in the Colognati di Rossano valleys, rich in spontaneous flowering and numerous citrus groves where the prestigious Clementine grows luxuriantly. The processing of Chestnut, Celementine and Millefiori honey takes place in the laboratories of the Santa Maria delle Grazie district, through a rigorously cold sorting process.

The family-run "Valle del Colagnati" company could only be born by basing its mission on passion and love for nature. Lying on the heights of the Rossano area, closed between the Santa Croce hill and the Colognati basin.
